A travel permit was issued in Reutlingen, Kindom of Wurttemberg on May 16, 1832:Jacob Friedrich Dorrer, shoemaker, residing in Reutlingen has been given free and undisturbed passeage, he will leave May 21, 1832 from home through Holland with the intention of establishing residency in North America, by Heilbronn he will exit the Kingdom.Age: 24, Height: 5'8", Stature: Slender, Hair: Blond, Eyes: Gray
Jacob and Anna Maria settled in Loudenville, Ohio after arriving from Germany.Jacob was a shoemaker.They moved to Guthrie Farm 1 1/2 miles from Perryville around 1855.A family story tells of Jacob breaking his leg here and Anna Maria would walk the 14 miles to Mansfield to buy leather for his shoemaking.Jacob was well educated and planned to become a minister but for some reason never did.They eventually sold the Guthrie Farm and bought one later owned by their son Frank.Jacob became ill and was found in the bedroom doorway apparently dead of a heart attack.He owned 280 acres of land which was kept in the family until around 1932 when Frank died.Source:Handwritten letter obtained from Doerrer descendant in Mansfield, OH / auther unknown.

OBITUARY:(LaGrange Standard, September 29, 1922)In Ashland county, Ohio, on September 3, 1836, a daughter, Elizabeth, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dorerrer.In 1859 she was united in marriage to Jacob Bolley.To this union were born eight children, three sons and five daughters.Mrs. Bolley departed this life on September 24, 1922, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Henry Misner, near Olive Lake.Her husband and three daughters preceeded her to the spririt world.Three sons are living, Jacob, William and Albert, and two daughters, Mrs. Albert Case and Mrs. Daniel Ackermire.Three brothers Emanuel of Helmer and Frank and Edwin of Ashland, Ohio, twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-three great great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors are leftg to mourn their loss.In 1870 she came from Ohio with husband and family and settled on a farm in Milford township, LaGrange county, where they resided until the husband was disabled and compelled to retire from active life.After this, the rearing of the family was left to her and to her alone.No on knows what she suffered and endured through those lonely years, for uncomplainingly and yet smiling, she suffered through.She was unusually ambitious and active both in youth and in age and always ready to help those in need.Being a member of the German Lutheran church since early womanhood and a firm believer in her God, she left us without fear.
Elizabeth's obituary indicates a date of birth as 1836 however her tombstone indicates 1835.

The lineage of Jacob Bolley is unclear.Jacob's death certificate indicates his father was Jacob Bolley of Switzerland.The IGI shows a Jacob Bolli, son of Simeon Bolli & Margaretha Bollinger, was born January 16, 1834, County of "Sh", Town of Beringen.Same date ... perhaps a match??In 1980 Floyd Bolley told that he thought Jacob was born near Shoufan on the Rhine River.He also believed Jacob had a brother, John, and a sister, Anna, who moved to Illinois.In 1870 Jacob and Elizabeth moved to LaGrange County, Milford Twp., Indiana from Ashland, Ohio per Elizabeth's obituary.
OBITUARY:(LaGrange Standard, October 27, 1910)Funeral services for Jacob Bolley, whose death occurred Sunday Evening at the home of a son at Brighton were held Tuesday from the Plato church.
Jacob's death certificate indicates his year of birth as 1833 however his tombstone indicates 1834.
