Wonder if you can help with potentially a sad Dornan story:
My great great grandmother was Mary Margaret Dornan
who arrived in Canada as a 4 year old "orphan"........in 1890...
We don't know for sure if she is Irish, Scottish or English:
but during these years thousands of abandoned or orphaned or illegitimate children were shipped to Canada from these parts.........
The ships coming to Canada during these years were mainly originating from Glasgow: a few made stops in Londonderry and Liverpool....
But the English have no record of this child.........
Would you have any idea who such a child might belong to from family folklore?
Thanks:Suzanne Sears, Ontario Canada..
