Allan Quincy Darrall diary
Today I purchased a diary written from April 19th 1891 - September 12th 1892.It was written by A. Darrall and in it he states,
“October 28th, 1891
This is my 64th Anniversary. I was born on the 28th day of October 1827 at Masontown Fayette County in the state of Pennsylvania where my parents resided till 1836. They went on a farm known as the Lodge which name was given it from Martin Mason who was the patentee of the tract of land. In 1840 we returned to Masontown and lived there till March 1845. Moved thence to the Harrison farm which was patented to Robert Harrison and named Pearce’s lot. Father, Nathaniel Darrall, died there on the first day of January 1850. I sold the part of the farm which fell to me, in 1868 and left PA. in 1869 in the month of May.”
I don't have the diary in my possession yet but I have already started working on this genealogy. This gentleman lived near Greenfield, Dade County, Missouri and so I went to check the Greenfield Cemetery book and found these enteries:
DARRALL, Allan Q. 28 Oct 1827 - 29 Sept 1901
DARRALL, Thomas A. 28 Mar 1860 - 4 Aug 1908
SCROGGS, Luther M. (Rev) 1861 - 1947
DARRALL, Hattie 1862 - 1926 w/ L.M. Scroggs
DARRALL, Diana 24 Aug 1835 Somerfield PA - 16 Mar 1887 dau/John C. & Elizabeth Darrall
This the acutal transcription.
Thomas was Allan's son.Hattie was his daughter a/k/a Francis Mariah.I'm trying to figure out how Diana>John C. & Elizabeth fit into this picture. When I seach for John C. Darrell, I only find matches that were born after his daughters birthdate so they are not him.Any help will be appreciated.
