It is a mystery to me.I have that Edward stated that he was born in Powhatan Co. VA.so I will definitely go back & check that out.Errors are easily made.Of course it's a history lesson it itself determining the county formations from year to year!Dorton's Fort is almost to the present Russell Co. VA line so I've been looking at migration routes leading to there, to no avail.Some say he came from NC.What do you think about that & the theory of his Indian ties?If they're true he could have even been listed under negro records like some "Mullungeons" were listed.I'll definitely post anything that I might find.
