"The State of Indiana,Count of Gibson,ss On this ----day of January,a.d..,1864 personally appeared before(1) Sawyer M. Baston----Gibson count a court of Record within and for said county, Nancy Ann Dossett aged 37 years, a resident of Pike , in the county(blank),and state of Indiana, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on her oath, make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefits of the provision made by the act of Congress approved July 14,1862: That she is the widow of Henry Dossett who was a private in company (blank) commanded by captain -----, in the 65th regiment of Indiana vols, commanded by Col John W. Foster in the war of 1861.That her said husband died at Knoxville Tennessee in Presbyterian Church Hospital in the State of Tennessee on the23rd of December A.D. 1863 While in the line of duty in the service of the United States. She further declares that she was married to the said Henry Dossett at Pike Ct Ind, on the 19th day of September A.D. 1849, by one Chas.F. White a Justice of the Peace; That her name before her marriage was Nancy Ann Hayden, and that ever since the death of her said husband she has remained a widow: as will more fully appear by reference to the proof annexal. That during the existence of the aforesaid marriage there were born to her and her said husband the following named Children, who are nowunder the age of sixteen years, James Dossett, born 8th day of september 1850;William Dossett born the 13th day of ----1852;Martha Jane Dossett born 15th day of August 1854;David Dossett born 11th day of December 1856 Joanna Dossett Born 11th day of ----1858; Elizabeth Dossett born 18th day of November 1861.
