Today I went to the public libary and re-examined the Bardsley book and, after studying the key to abbreviations closer, I now realize that I mis-intrepreted the entry.Following the discussion about the name and the marriage of Thomas & Mary is this:St. Geo.Han.Sq.i.187.London 2;Philadephia 2.I thought that this meant that two references to this person was found in Philadelphia.Wrong.It means that 2 Dossetts were found in a directory published in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1885 by Jas. Gopsill & sons. The St. Geo . . . refers to a St George Church, Hnover Square, 1725-1809, 2 vols.)The London means that 2 Dossetts were listed in a directly entitled London Commercial & Court Directors 1870).I apologize for any inconvenience.
