Thank you for your response to my message. The elder William Greenberry Dossey I suspect is the same one who sold land to George Russell in Franklin County, Tennessee in October 1816 (Book J page 414) and moved to Morgan County, Alabama and in July 1818 purchased public land in Section 25 of Township 7 Range 1 West, Certificate 1180.
I believe he remains in Morgan County, Alabama until he moves to Sevier County, Arkansas and is enumerated in the 1840 census with other Dosseys and related families. They must have arrived in Arkansas after statehood perhaps 1837-1839.
