Hi Morris, I keep searching; but seems like I keep coming back to the families that you are speaking about. Basically, because he was in Alabama so early. My William Dotson/Dodson born abt. 1802 in North Carolina; seems to move with the William Monroe Stewart families. There aren't any Dotson families around him. These two families are together in (1830)Bledsoe Co., and (1840)Bradley Co., Tennessee. Then in 1850, William Stewart moves to Anderson Co., Texas and my William is still in Walker Co., Georgia. My William is married to Margaret Stewart, daughter of William Stewart.
Thank you so much for posting the Hill Co., Texas Cemetery data. Last week I started searching into your family lines. I had a friend to share "Leonard" data with me. Then, I discover that Joseph Dotson b. 1857 in Texas (son of Milo Smith Dotson) is living next to your Jesse T. Leonard in 1910 in Erath Co. I found this very interesting. Joseph Dotson married Modena Conley and they had (1)Detroit Dotson b. abt. 1883 TX, married Maude Fouts; (2)Lou Ola b. 1885 (3)Amanda b. 1886 (4)Morgan Smith Dotson b. 1888, married Alta Rogers (5)Annie b. 1893, Erath Co., married John C. Cox (6) Maude b. 1895, married James Tankersley (7) Robert Francis Dotson b. 1899, married Lola Wilson. Some of these families moved to Haskell Co., Texas. Do any of these names sound familiar? Again, thank you for your interest. I will continue searching our lines. Fran Adair Bethea
