I am posting this to see if this story sounds familiar to any of you:
Family history tells me this:
In the mid-1800's my Dotson ancestor lived in Alabama with his father - names not known - his step-mother and siblings.Evidently his step-mother did not care much for him and told lies that caused his father to beat him very badly. He then crawled to a neighbor's house who let him stay until he recovered. This Dotson then left Alabama. Eventually the family ended up near Bowling Green, Florida. My grandfather was Hiram Biff Dotson and he had brothers Nathan and Sam.I believe Hiram's father's name was Thomas.
