Mr. Doty James Henry Doty, 81 year old Payne County Pioneer, died Thursday in the Four Season's Nursing Home in Norman, Okla., following an illness of approximately one year. Funeral Services were held Saturday Morning at 10:30 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Fairley Funeral Home with Rev. Edwin Beasley of the First Church of God officiating.Mrs. William Fielding Jr. sang as solo, "Farther Along" and "In the Garden".Mrs. J. Lyall Smith played the piano accompanyment.Casket Bearers were John Liston, Larry Liston, Ronald Liston, Riley Sharp, Leo Sharp and Clifford Henderson.Interment was in the Ripley Cemetery under direction of Fairly Funeral Home.Mr. Doty was born April 14, 1888 in Mt. Rose, Iowa (montrose?) and came to Okla. with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Doty, when he was five years old.He was married to Abby Liston on Feb. 14, 1942 at Chandler, Okla. and the couple have lived all there married life in the Cushing community.He was active in farming in Payne County all his adult life.Surviving relatives are his wife, Abby Doty of the home, one step son, Arthur Liston of Moore, Okla. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 2 half sisters, Mrs. Mary Hoskins of Oakland Ca. and Mrs. Verne Sutherland of Blythe, Ca.
