I also just found this will for Joseph Doty.It was apparently written early and there may have been codicils or other wills that were written later.
DOTY, JOSEPH, of Bridgewater twsp. Dated Jan. 10, 1811. Probat. Mar. 25, 1811. Names sons, Tobias Hall, Jonathan and Joseph (all minors; Jonathan to be sent to college and to "study divinity if it should please the Lord to give him a heart inclining thereto"); daus., Ann and Elizabeth; deceased wife, Elizabeth (evidently dau. of John and Mary Allen); Richard Allen (brother of John Allen). Executors--Dickinson Miller, Samuel Swan, Thomas Talmage. Witnesses--Abel Stewart, Stephen P. Stryker, Isaac Auten. (A, p. 271).
