Hi Ken & Pam We have a Doty2Doughty ydna project that started up last Fall. Our project is public while the Mayflower project is private. Our project website : http://www.doty2doughtydna.com/http://www.doty2doughtydna.com/ We are not focused just on the Edward Doty Line, however at this time most of our testers are matching up with the Edward Doty ydna numbers. It was confirmed by the Mayflower Society that our NC-1, and SC-1 had exact matches with their two testers.
Also we have another tester with documented descent from son John of Edward Doty that has matched these numbers with one marker off which happens to be 439 which is the third fastest mutating marker.
Since we have found this mutation which is not uncommon, it becomes prudent to get male testers from all of Edward's sons so we can nail down solid Edward's ydna numbers.........Right now we can not be sure if the mutation is on the son John Line or is it on the other lines that are all matching.
This does not make a difference if one is looking forward from Edward Doty, but it sure does if one is looking back in time from Edward to England.
Thanks, and hope you visit our website....Joe Doughty
