First the lineage goes as follows:
Edward Doty (<1599 to Aug 23, 1655)of the Mayflower, m. Faith Clarke (abt. 1619 to Dec 21, 1675)
His son Samuel (abt 1643-4 to Sept-Nov, 1715, m. Jane Harmon (abt 1660 to >Oct. 18, 1717. Samuel moved to Piscataway, New Jersey.
His Son Isaac (Aug 12, 1683 to >1749), m. Frances (last name unknown).
His son Micajah (Mar 15, 1728-9 to May 1797-Nov 1798), m. Rosanna (last name unknown - she died Aug 22, 1799). Micajah moved to Wantage, Sussex Co., New Jersey.
His son Henry (<1760 to 1830-40), m. Sally (or Sarah?) Campbell? (abt 1774 to 1850-60). He moved to Belmont Co. His brother John Doty is the one who moved to Marshall Co.
Of John's children, only one seems to have stayed in Marshall Co (Micajah) - the other 6 moved further westward.
Henry of Belmont Co had 6 sons - Joseph, Reuben (moved to Louisiana), Lewis (my line), John, Henry, & James. And 2 daughters - Margaret (Peggy) & Mary (Molly) - neither of who I have found any evidence after about 1830.
You have the earlier info I posted about John and his son John. His children's marriages:
Anna Belle m. Tolbert Gallaher Apr 24, 1881. not sure where, but it was by a traveling priest from Washington Co., PA.
Mary Catherine m. W. Frederick Kimple Dec 31, 1885 Marshall Co.
You have the info on Charles Humphrey Doty, & no I have not found him in the 1900 census. But from birth records, they were in Marshall Co.
Samuel Edward m. Alice G. Shimp Oct 21, 1898 Marshall Co. He served in the Spanish-American War.
William Christopher m. (1) Sarah (or Sadie?) Larimore Feb 7, 1903 Marshall Co. He disappeared in abt. 1919. But I found him in Marion Co., WV living with Luta A. in the 1930 census.
Elizabeth (Lizzie) J. m. James Franklin Weekly Jan 16, 1892 Marshall Co.
Lucy V. m. Charles E. Weekly Jan 1, 1895 Marshall Co.
Alice Lydia m. William Franklin Hooker Nov 11, 1899 Marshall Co.
I also have 8 children for Charles Humphrey:
Stella Frances, Chester Harold, Ethel B., Lawrence Cecil, Agnes Pearl, Evelyn Margurita, Charles D., & Catherine L.
And finally, the children of Chester Harold:
Richard M., Franes Waneta, Kenneth L., Harold Benton, Royal Warren, Rosemary I., Chester H., Nevada Larry, & Robert Wayne. Harold benton apparently died in Europe in WWII. I'm not sure, but I think Chester H. & Rosemary I. are both still alive or at least as of 2000.
