I downloaded a copy of the Doty-Doten book and traced Isaac's line as far as the book went and then connected the family info I have.Since it goes back something like 12 generationsI made a paper chart as a visual and for my family it goes like this:
Edward, Isaac, Joseph, Joseph, Ormond, Ormond, Dorus Van Wike, Lyman, then the male like breaks to my great grandma Ethel Doty, to grandma Gladys Love, to my dad then my generation.
The first Ormond was born in Charlotte, Duchess, NY and then was sent to live in Vermont after an incident about supporting the crown rather than the patriots during the war.(Hmmm, sounds like me.I don't plan to support the Patriots either, but that's the Superbowl.) :)
Dorus Van Wike Doty was born in Vt but then went to Iowa and is buried in Lake City in Calhoun County in the western part of the state.Lyman was born there and died young leaving my great-grandma and her sister. There was a son but he died as a child. My great-grandma died in Illinois and her sister died in Arizona.
