H.F. Doty, for many years a resident of Kane county, and who has resided in Batavia for the past forty years, died at his home, 120 McKee street, Jan. 30th, 1908, after an illness of a few weeks.
The funeral was held from the home, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and the interment in West Batavia cemetery.
Mr. Doty was born near Rochester, N.Y. and would have been eighty-six years of age the seventeenth of next February. He came west as a young man and has resided in Illinois ever since. He was married to Orissa Davis in Naperville and they came to Kane county to live.
After coming to Batavia, the deceased was a member of the Norris-Doty Pump company firm, and later worked many years for the U.S. Wind Engine and Pump company, keeping at his work until eighty-two years of age, when he was compelled by ill health to quit.
There survive the widow and three children, Mrs. F.J. Carr and F.H. Doty of Batavia and Mrs. Alice Wernicke of Aurora.
