Your message caught my eye. My Grandfather was James Lee Doty, whose father marrried a woman called Hattie Seward from Hardin Mo. I think that James Polk Doty died about the time my grandfather was born, which as nearly ans I can tell was around 1875.I remember my grandfather in 1947, when I was six.He was blind at the time and died around that era. I do not know my great grandfather's name, but the Seward name for the wife is just too much of a coincidence. Ms Seward married soon after James Polk's death, evidently, to a man named Green. My father, who is deceased, claimed that James Lee Doty lived ineither Watson Oklahoma or Bald Knob Oklahoma. James Lee had one sister, Anna, who married a man named Evan Mitchell. All the above information is in a handwritten note by my father who was James Lee Doty's only son that had children to carry on the blood line and name.I would very much be interested in learning what you know about James Polk Doty, who is obviously my great-grandfather.
