George Boone III, born 1666, Stoak, England, married Mary Maugridge born about 1669.Mary was native of Bradninch.They had nine children. Three of the children, George, Sarah, and Squire, sailed ahead of family, arriving in the Philadelphia colony in 1713.The remaining family departed from port in Bristel [Bristol?], 17 Aug. 1717, landing in Philadelphia, 29 Sept. 1717.They were of Quaker faith.Some of the family settled in Oley Township, Borks County, PA.
Squire farmed and blacksmithed, teaching the trade to son Daniel.However, Daniel preferred to hunt and fish.In 1750, the Boone family sold their land and "holdings" and moved to the fertile Yadkin River valley of North Carolina and took a claim at Buffalo Lick.
Rebecca Bryan, whose family had immigrated from Ireland, was married to Daniel on 11 August 1756, by her father-in-law, Squire Boon, Justice of the Peace.Daniel and Rebecca had nine children; four girls and five boys.The youngest son, Nathan, was born 2 March 1781.Nathan lived to be 75 years old and died 28 October 1856.Nathan married 13 January 1783, toOlive Van Bibber, a native of Greenbriar County, Virginia.Olive died 12 November 1858, near present day St. Louis, Missouri.
Nathan and Olive's daughter, Delinda, was born 2 February 1802.Delinda Boone married James Craig, 29 April 1819, possibly near St. Louis, and had a large family.James moved from Missouri to Hanover, Illinois in June of 1822.Delinda and the children joined him four years later, in 1826.Delinda lived in Hanover until her death 18 September 1877.James Craig was a minister and served under Colonel Zachary Taylor in the Blackhawk War of 1832.James Craig was born 30 November 1794, and died 31 March 1847, at the age of 52 years, 4months, and 10 days.There were many children born to the Craig family: Daniel Boone Craig, Nathan Boone Craig, James Craig, Jr., Jesse Craig, Lionel Craig married Anna Goss, Nancy Lucas Craig married Isaac Giles, Edward Milton Craig, Leonard Craig (a twin to Lionel), Jane Craig married Timothy Doty, Minerva Craig married Robert Campbell, Elizabeth Craig, Emma Craig married Samuel Cutler, Melcina Craig married Levi Morris, Clinton C. James and Delinda Boone Craig's daughter, Jane, was born 17 March 1831.Jane married Timothy Doty.Timothy was born in Midwest Canada 19 August 1820, of French, and perhaps Irish, descent.He came to the United States at about 19 years of age.Timothy and Jane were married 25 December 1847, in the Old Stone Hotel, Mt. Carroll, Carroll County, IL.There were eleven children born to Timothy and Jane.Here are the known children: Joseph, Wellington, Edwin, David, Jesse, Emma, Hattie, Abbie, and James.The Doty's farmed at different locations.One farm was near Zion, IL.Another, referred to as "Hedgefarm" by Jane, was located eight miles north of Savanna, IL. The last farm, where Jane and Timothy Doty lived until their death, was located about five or six miles southeast of Savanna. Timothy died 30 April 1890.Jane died 9 September 1903.
Timothy and Jane Craig Doty's son, Joseph, was born 18 May 1850, and died 29 June 1930.Joseph married Mary Myeres who was born 19 January 1852, and died 20 June 1920.Joseph and Mary had six children: Jerry, Ray, Harvey, Clarence, George, and May.There may have been a second daughter that died in infancy.

Edwin and Jane Nipe Doty's son, James Alfred, was born 1879 and died 1940.Margaret Johnston was born 10 December 1881, and died 1977.Both Alfred and Margaret are buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, IL.James and Margaret JohnstonDoty had three children: Ruth Marian married Jesse James Parsley, Earl "Buster", a bachelor, and Glen married Jurine Howe.Glen and Jurine Howe Doty had a daughter, Michelle.
James and Margaret Johnston Doty's daughter, Ruth, was born 5 February 1909.Ruth married 24 January 1931, to Jesse Parsley, born 2 April 1898.Jesse Parsley's daughter by first marriage was Thelma Irene, born 28 July 1930.Jesse and Ruth's daughter, Mabel, was born 12 January 1932.Ruth died 8 December 1995.Jesse died 25 November 1976 and is buried in Lanark City Cemetery, Carroll County, IL.

St. Louis Gazette on the death of Daniel Boone, "Colonel Boone was a man of common stature, of great enterprise, strong intellect, amiable disposition and inviolable integrity.He died universally regretted by all who knew him."A nephew of Daniel Boone described him as, "Five feet, eight inches tall, stout, strong made, light hair, blue eyes, wide mouth, thin lips, a nose a little on the Roman order."Though intensely religious, he was not a member of a church.His wife, Rebecca was a Baptist, and his son, Daniel Morgan, was a Presbyterian.
