Sarah, Elizabeth and Jacob Henry THOMPSON were all born to Jacob T. THOMPSON and Sarah PRESCOTT. From notes my grandmother left, all of them were born in Appling County, GA. Jacob Henry is my gggrandfather, he was born 3 Mar 1861 and was the baby of the family. His mother died either in or shortly after childbirth as family history has it that she never saw him. His father, Jacob T., according to family legend "died in a ditch of blood." We believe he is the Jacob T. THOMPSON listed as having died 31 May 1862 in the Battle of Seven Pines, VA as part of the Appling Grays, 27th Regiment, I Company. I've sent a request to NARA for his records. Georgia's files are in flux as they are moving their records, so I can't do more research there until after May 1.
Anyway, from family notes left and given to me, no one was ever able to trace the two sisters (and I have no birth dates for them). Jacob Henry was taken in and raised by his mother's sister, Renee (Irene) PRESCOTT, whom I recently discovered married Jasper RAULERSON, brother of Russell RAULERSON. Ironically, Jacob Henry married Tedia Eugenia RAULERSON in 1888. Tedia was one of Russell RAULERSON'S granddaughters (her father was Thomas Samuel RAULERSON).
I appreciate your responding to me. If you have any leads for me, please let me know. Thanks!
