Drennen /Scotland & Ireland

By Mary Driggers December 15, 2001 at 08:48:55

I know that my line of the Drennen family came from Ireland to America. But here is an interesting tidbit. Book entitled The Surnames of Scotland By George F. Black page 220 - Drennan (Drinnan - Drynan) These surnames recorded in Galloway and also in the parish of Ballantrae, Aryshire this also has a few other items to it. Should also note that one William Drennen was sent as prisoner from Scotland to America. So what happened to his family did they flee to Ireland as did many Scottish rebels and then on to America. It makes for some interesting research.
