Drussel, Are you Related?
My great grandfather was conrad Drussel. His first wife was Anastasia Obrist. they met in Basel, Switzerland. He was from Bahlingen, Baden, Germany ( not a common name for that area). He immigrated to America in 1883 with his wife and two children, Carolina (Lina or Lena) and Heinrich. Heinrich was was known as Henry Drussel/Drissell. He settled in Payson, Utah and married Eda Louise (Edie)Erlandson and theresa Marie Thustrup (Tessie). It is our understanding that Lena never married , but worked for a Mister Tobias, who had a suitcase business in SLC. she worked for him until she died (abt 70 yrs old ?) We can find no information on her death. Her family members worked the mines in Eureka. Her brother August( my great grandfather) came in 1882 and married Caroline Beck . Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. I willbe happy to share what I have compiled. Before Conrad left Mannheim, Germany, he was baptized into the the church of Jesus christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as abranch President before coming to Utah. After Annie died(his first wife) died in 1884 of breast cancer, he rmarried Christina Lindaur ( we know very little about her. He is buried in the payson cemtery next to her. Annie is buried in Lehi next to her son August and his wife.
Even if you are not related directly to these families, please contact me if you are a Drussel or Drissell(some of the family changed their name around 1910. Henry and his sister , maybe Conrad. August kept the Drussel spelling.
thanks you,
Gayle (Drussel) Dickson
