Well finally I meet another researcher, for the John Dudgeon of New Brunswick line, of which I descend.
In case you don't know, John died and was buried in 1839, in Ohio, while visiting relatives (daughter?).
He and wife Elizabeth Mahan had ten (?) daughters, but NO sons, so his line doesn't yield further Dudgeon-named descendants.
There is a memorial stone for him, I believe, at Shepody Cemetery, around Hopewell, Albert Co., New Brunswick, Canada.
Since much is written about Dudgeons in Ohio, and our Canadian based ancestor was visiting Ohio, there is a connection to be made.
My website:

where you can see what I (and don't) have for John and Elizabeth. He is the subject of local history in Hopewell, Shepody Bay, etc.
Hope someone from the Ohio line casts light on the connection, possibly including the gravestone in Ohio.
FYI there IS Londonderry, Nova Scotia, where he initially went.I have never found anything for his parents, however there is writing to the effect that three families came to NS, from Derry, Ireland.
They were Rogers, Mahan and Dudgeon. Therefore, John Dudgeon married a daughter of one of his father's Ireland to Canada fellow travellers.I'm guessing a bit.
John Dudgeon is said to have been born in 1767, by some accounts at Londonderry, NS, CA.By others born in Ireland.
