Dear Alan,
The reason that I think that Andrew is the brother of Thomas is how they were at the same addresses . On the 1841 census they were both on Castle Street. I think that maybe Thomas was living with Andrew. Also Andrew lived at 23 Duke Street until 1841 and that is the address given on Thomas's daughter Marion's death entry. She died 3 Oct 1844. I think that John is also a brother as he was at Luss as book-keeper at the same time that Andrew was a gardener. Also a Thomas and John Dudgeon were sponsors of Andrew's children. When I look at the Quixwood Dudgeons the names are so similar to the family names of our Dudgeons.
I have found out more about my Thomas. I know that he had a son Robert born in 1815 in London. I have seen the baptismal entry and it states Thomas is a soldier. The address is for the Artillery Barracks at St Johns Wood Marylebone. I have also discovered that he had a daughter Susan who married a John Bulloch in 1836 in Glasgow. On Susans death entry it lists Thomas Dudgeon deceased paymaster in the Royal Artillery as her father. She died 19th April 1881 at Holm St Glasgow. Holm St was the address where her sister Margaret had been in 1841. Margaret had married a Thomas Forbes Oct 1826 and died in the poor house abt 1885.
I hope some of this ties in with your information and we might find some connection.
Best wishes
Anne
