The Dudley Family Genealogy by: Dean Dudley (check site: www.familytreemaker.com/_glc_/1563) lists Captain Roger as the son of Henry Dudley (Knight Captain) and Dau. Ashton.Dean's journals are considered to be the authoritative work on this issue, but even Dean "attributes" Thomas Dudley's parents as, Captain Roger and S. Thorne.There are no birth records to substantiate this.This issue will probably never be fully resolved and has been going on for 100 years.
