Lyse,
With regards to Domitille marrying Edouard Groulx I believe the original record is in error. The Loiselle index shows an Edouard Groulx Groulx marrying a Domithilde Dumouchel. It also lists Edouard's parents at Edouard Groulx and Julie Langevin (the latter being my great3 grandparents).Edouard and Julie had a son named Edouard who married Martine(Christine) Lalonde in St Polycarpe in 1858 prior to Domithilda's wedding.Edouard and Julie and 3 sons: Edouard, Joseph, and Napoleon, moved to Bay County, Michigan, at various times between 1865 and 1885.In Michigan, it is Joseph who appears married to "Matilda DeMitchell".The given name always appears as Matilda while the last name is misspelled in a number of creative ways.In Michigan Edouard Jr. is still married to Christine Lalonde.I have to conclude that the Ripon marriage record substituted Joseph's father's name for Joseph's.Unfortunately, I have not yet seen the original to be able to say more.I also suspect that your Domitille is Marie Matilda from the exclusive use of Matilda in Michigan records.
Regards,
Tim Drummond
