Sorry it took so long to get back to you.Genforum is not informing us of responses to postings, so I just found out today about your message.Anyway, yes I think you are correct about Firmin's parents.Here is a baptism for him from the Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967:

Firmin Dumouchel, b. 9 Sep, bap 10 Sep 1840 Montreal (Basilique Notre-Dame), son of Francois Dumouchel & Euphrosine Dajenay of the parish of St-Laurent.-godparents- Francois Dajenay & Marie Dumouchel.
