Hi, I think your Martin Dunn is in Jefferson Cty, AL in 1850.On the census, page 205 #78, William Dunn 45 m NC, Marnida H. 26F, AL, John W. 5 m, AL, Martin 1/12 m AL, and listed last is William L. Dunn 21 m AL.This William L. Dunn is my gggrandfather.Maranda Dunn (name on M.L.) and the 45 yr. old William married in Marshall Cty, AL 21 Nov, 1844 by John H. Oden. MG., Thomas Dunn, sur.This is my brick wall, I can't find my William L. Dunn before this.It would be easy to assume that the older William is my William L. Dunn's father, but since William L is 21 and Maranda is 26 and her name on her marriage license was Dunn, they could be brother and sister.I have been here for about 15 years, but have not really done any researching until last week when I got a new computer.Then in Marshall Cty, AL in 1870 #23 family is Polly Whistenhunt, age 34 F AL with 5 other Whistenhunt, but living there also is Marinda Dunn age 40F, b. AL, Martin Dunn, age 18 M, AL, Nancy 16F AL, Joanna 10F,AL, and Joseph 8M, AL, some age differences, but who knows. Then in 1900 Marshall Cty, AL, family #262, page 1178,
Mart Dunn, B April, 1847, 53 yrs, AL, Sara A, wife, b. june 1873, age 26, Willie R. dau, b. aug 1884, age 15, Martin, son b. march, 1886, age 14, George H. son, b.june 1887, age 12, Joseph P. son, b.nov. 1890, age 9, Gordia dau. b. May 1893, Pearl A. dau, b. july 1897, age 2, and Margis D. son b. june 1899, ll mos old, all born AL.I have a note to myself that this is his second wife and the first 5 kids are by first wife, and last two by this wife.Let me know if any of this helps you.I have a lot of Marshall Cty information.Lots of luck.Jo Dunn Sheppard
