I don't have much that will help, but may give you a boost.
I own an Irish pub in a building at 684 Lafayette Ave, Terre Haute, IN. It is in the Dunnigan Subdivision of Harrison Township at the junction of Lafayette Avenue, 3rd Avenue, and 7th Street.
In the 1880's and 1890's the property was owned by Augustine Dunnigan, a 1st generation immigrant from Ireland. He was a pharmacist and ran a drug store in the downstairs, and lived in the upstairs with his wife and 2 daughters. They had a son who died at 1 month of age. At the turn of the century, the property address changes and ownership changes to Gibson Parriot. I don't know what happened to the Dunnigan family from there. Obviously, they were, in some way, well liked (or prosperous) because the area was named for them.
If this wasn't helpful, I hope it was at least interesting.
