Dunsmoor, Dinsmore, Dinsmoor............
It seems that this family name took many spellings, all of which trace back to Scotland. I have traced mine back to Samuel Dinsmore born e:1741, married e:1774 to a Maragret, and then he died e:1776 serving in the army -which side I don't know yet! I believe that they lived in Maine. He had at least one child, a son- Samuel born 1774 in Maine. Samuel married his first wife in 1798, Esther Harmon. His second marriage was in 1809 to Lydia Churchill. At some point in time Samuel moves out west. He died in 1861 in DeWitt Iowa.He had several childern by both wives.I'm looking for information on the parents/family of Samuel (Dinsmore?) born in 1741.Anyone wishing to exchange or share info please contact me- many thanks in advance- Patricia Cook Dinsmore [email protected]
