Origins of this surname ?
Would anyone here happen to know the origins of this Surname?
A man at the DONNELL page here has brought up some very intersting information about a Henry Donnell who might have been from the Barnstable, England area, and whose last name might really have been DUNWELL.
This Henry Donnell lived in York Co., Maine in the 1630's.
Go to the Donnell page and read the story.
IF, this Henry's last name is really DUNWELL, perhaps this is everyone's immigrant ancestor.
If anyone knows the origins of this last name I for one would be most interested because my 5th grt. grandmother was a DONNELL from York Co., Maine and her ~real~ last name might actually be DUNWELL.
Thank you for any info.
