Re: Dupuis of St Anicet Quebec
My great great grand-parents are Eugénie Dupuis daughter of Louis Dupuis and Genevieve Leblanc. Eugénie married Francois Régis Saucier, son of Francois Régis Saucier and Marie Anne Dancause February 12 1844 in St-Anicet Québec Through the Drouin collection I have been able to find the actual church record of this marriage.Their daughter, Aurelie my great grandmother, was born in the U.S. probably in the area of Hogansburg or Brasher N.Y. as were 2 other of their children, Francois Régis and Marie.I was able to find the record of the baptism of Marie and they are listed in the 1850 census for that area of the U.S. which gives their place of residence as Brasher, N. Y... The other children were all born in St-Anicet. In the U.S census their names were anglicized and appear as Richard, Jane, and Mary. This also happened in the Canadian census taken while the family were living in Ontario in the 1870s. I have pictures of Aurelie along with her sisters, Marie, Genevieve, Marguerite taken at a family reunion abt. 1915 in Aylmer, Qué. I would be happy to exchange photos.
