J. Frank Dupuis
I am looking for any information on J.Frank Dupuis. His first name is Joseph though he went by Frank. He was born on August 2nd or 7th, 1871 or around that date.He was born in Montreal, left home at 23 years old. He may have been in prison in New Westminister (BC) in 1901, later lived and worked in Winnipeg (St.Boniface area) where he married Blanche Kobs(from Belgium). He was in the hospital in 1908 for problems with his leg. He moved to Argyle/Grand Forks area and then to Stephen, Mn. in 1911. He married again and had not divorced his first wife.
He was charged with bigamy and ended up in prison in the Stillwater State Prison in Minnesota (Feb 17,1913).He was there until 1916 or 1917 and released.I don't know what happened to him after that.Any information about where he was before he came to Winnipeg or after he got out of prison in Stillwater would be greatly appreciated. He reported in prison that the name of his father was Rospee Dupuis (or Dupius) and his mothers name was Philomene Dupuis. He claimed he went to Commercial college and did also spend time in Winnipeg Provencial Jail for a problem with check fraud. He worked in insurance, real estate and as a telegraph operator.Thank you.
