duQuesnay Family - Here is some info
Ok from what I know or have found. The duQuesnay family is from northern France, it means "of the Oaks" as in the tree.
The family is titled with the head of the family being one Pierre duQuesnay born in New Orleans, La.
The family moved to the Caribbean where they owned land and slaves.Areas including Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
A large number of the family were in the Catholic Church - alot of Cardnals.
The family moved onto New Orleans and many members of the family helped the city grow.
I know this is all a bit vague but I'm still finding bits.
If you black and have the name duQuesnay then you are most likely related to the family slaves from Jamaica. When set free they felt such a part of the family that they asked to take on the family name.It was given and such there are many black people with the name duQuesnay - Ann duQuesnay the singer being amoung them.
