The Ralph Dustin you are interested in was Ralph W. Dustin, son of John Monroe(8) Dustin [John L.(7), Osgood(6), Nathaniel(5,4,3), Thomas(2,1) by his second wife, Loretta B. Perrin. Ralph was born in 1924 in Hilliar Township, Knox County, OH (Mt. Vernon is the county seat of Knox County). Ralph was the youngest of John M.'s nine children (4 by wife #1, 5 by #2). Ralph enlisted Feb. 18, 1943 at Akron, OH as a private. He was single and an automobile service man at the time of his enlistment. Ralph W. Dustin was killed Nov. 13, 1944 and was buried at Lorraine, France. He was a Private First Class at the time of his death and was a member of the 2nd Infantry, 5th Division. He was postumously awarded the Purple Heart. That is all I can tell you about him. Chris H.
