My former father-in-law is Gerald Osburn, Jr., living, whose mother is Bertha Jane Dustin b. 13 May, 1896, whose father is Hiram Dustin b. 1847, Adams Co, Illinois, whose father is Joseph Dustin b 1827, Genesee County, NY whose father is Bechias Dustin b. 5 Oct 1793, whose father is Ebenezer Dustin b.1760-1763, whose father is James Dustin b. 28 June 1734, whose father is Timothy Dustin b. September 14, 1694, whose parents were Thomas and Hannah (Emerson)Duston These dates are just from research I found on web sites and I have not proved anything yet.I just received the Duston-Dustin Family Genealogy books for the second through sixth generations, which includes Joseph Dustin, who is my kids gggreat grandather.I briefly read them and followed the line, but haven't verified all of the dates in the books with my notes yet. In a story told by Ted Dexter, who is a grandchild of Hiram Dustin:Sarah Jane Littlefield, 13 yrs old and Joseph Dustin, 14 years old were married in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Sarah's brother Lymon O. Littlefield (my research shows a date of 6 Nov, 1845).Her father is Waldo Littlefield of New York and mother Mercy Higgins, who left when Sarah was young. Sarah and Joseph's first child was Joseph "Hiram" Dustin, which is the line we are following.Ted also relates that on September 13, 1866 in San Bernardino, Sarah Jane and Joseph Dustin were divorced and she took back her maiden name.He believes Joseph married a Mary Bickmore and had 12 additional children. There is also reference to a Land Patent for Joseph Dustin in San Bernardino, California. This is just his "recollection" and no sources are provided, except a copy of the Land Patent info. Please let me know if you have anything to add or correct.Thank you.
