Thank you, Jean-Denis, or perhaps I should say, Merci Beaucoup!I am very grateful for even this tidbit of info, as I have been running into brick walls everywhere on this family.
I'd like to know how your family pronounces your last name.My grandmother and her sisters, as well as my mother and her sisters and cousins, pronounced my gggrandmother's maiden name as doo-tsee-EE.Of course, none of these folks ever met her.
About Adeline:In addition to her sister, Lucie, there is a woman named Molvina (spelling unsure) in the family.I am unclear on her position. She could have been a sister to Adeline and Lucie, or their mother, or an aunt.
I do know that Adeline went to a school in Quebec, because one of my family members has a prayer book with her name in it, and the name of the prize connected with it.However there seems to be no school name.
If you live in or near Quebec, perhaps you could tell me the names of some of the schools that were established by 1845 or so, and that accepted girls as students.
