My husband descends from Elizabeth Dutro Murray, a sister to Ruth Dutro Searight.Elizabeth was born 4 January 1797 in perhaps Old Town, Allegany Co, MD.She married Samuel Murray on 8 June 1813 in Muskingum Co, OH, and they lived in Morgan Co, OH until after Samuel's death. At a very advanced age she moved with several of her children to Marion, Linn Co, IA where she died 9 May 1891.At first, not having a complete birth date some other researchers and I thought Elizabeth and Ruth were twins, but we have since learned Ruth's birthday is 17 December 1797.I know that Elizabeth and Ruth along with 9 more siblings are children of George Dutro (Dotterer) and Mary Catherine Craigbaum.I have a question regarding the sons of their brother (one of the 9 other siblings) George W. Dutro who married Mary (Polly Dixon). He had six children.Son, James, was born in 1825 and married Elizabeth Phillips and son, Martin, was born in 1832.I have found two Dutros - James and Martin who both served in the Civil War as Colorado Volunteers and were involved in the Glorieta Pass battle with Martin losing his life there.James survived and went on to serve until his service term expired. Are these two men the sons of George and Mary (Polly) Dixon?Does anyone out there know this story?Joan E. Murray
