Re: Looking for Duty family members
I was glad to see your query about the Duty family in connection with Parker family.I have been trying to figure out howor if the Duty family was related to my family.I had been told in years past that almost everyone that came to Tx. on the Parker wagon train was in some way related. In The History of Anderson Co. Tx. it tells in Chapter 5 that the Anglins, the Dutys, the O'Quinns, the Starrs, & one other family that I can't think of right now, were all related by blood to Cynthia Ann Parker.
My ggg grandparents were Anglins in Anderson Co. & came there with the Parkers.I have been trying to figure outthe connection ever since finding original deeds & receipts with my family's names (Anglin, Darden, & Fain) on them along with the names Duty &O'Quinn. One shows a R. Duty & another shows Either a J.W. or Z.W. Duty, it's hard to make out. These papers were in my grandad, William Stewart Fain's,personal papers. The dates on them range from1830 in Illinois to the 1870's in Anderson & Henderson Counties , Tx.
The 1850 Anderson Co. Census shows the two Parker children who were notcaptured(Orlena & Silas) living in the house hold with Adrian Anglin.
I would be glad to send you copies of the papers with the Duty namesif you would like for me to.
Have I helped or added to the confusion?
