I read your posting with great interest. I have been searching for my Greatgrandmother DUVAL for a number of years now. I have records citing her name as Hermine, Arlina, Aline, and Ellen. Do your DUVAL's have any connection to the Sutton, MA. area? My Grandfather Joseph Henri LEDUC was born in Sutton to John (Toussaint) LEDUC & Hermine DUVAL in 1876. I find them next in Thompson, village of Grovsnerdale, CT in the 1880 census listed as; LADUC, John - age 26 LADUC, Ellen - age 30 LADUC, Henry - age 4 Thompson is quite close to the Danielson-Killingly area. In 1888, they are back in Sutton where another son is born. Joseph Avila LEDUC. His Baptismal record shows the parents as; Toussaint LEDUC & Arlina DUVAL. The Godparents are listed as; Ludger DUVAL Elisabeth DUVAL
I have another bit of info that may or may not be related. In the 1870 census for Sutton, MA. I find a woman living as Head of Household (no husband listed) Duval, Sophia - age 40 Duval, Louisa - age 22 Duval, Delina - age 21 Duval, Hermine - age 17 Duval, Seraphina - age 15 Duval, Alphonsie - age 12 Duval, Francois - age 7
I would be most interested in corresponding with you to see if there is a connection.
