Sorry, I cannot place your Nimrod DUVALL, either. It might help to sort out the Samuels. The immigrant ancestor was probably Marin / Mareen DUVALL, whose will was made and pr. Aug. 1694.The will of Daniel CLARKE, made 2 Oct. 1696, named wf. Eliza. & brother Wm. IJAMS.WRIGHT's "AA Church Records" says that Daniel CLARKE was bu. 8 Oct. 1696.Samuel DUVALL, son of the immigrant Mareen DUVALL, m. 18 Je. 1697, Elizabeth [IJAMS] CLARKE.Samuel and Elizabeth were ancestors of President TRUMAN.I believe he was the Samuel DUVALL whose will was pr. 24 Mar. 1741, Pr. Geo. Co., but he didn't name a son Samuel.Mareen DUVAL of the Great Marsh, Anne Arundel Co., will pr. 9 Je. 1741, left to son Samuel 300 acres of "Pleasant Grove."That son must have been the Samuel DUVALL who left will pr. 20 Nov. 1775, Pr. Geo., because he also named "Pleasant Grove."Samuel in 1775 left to sons Samuel & Jesse, "Welches Chance" on Waters Branch.DOLIANTE's "MD & VA Colonials" indicates that the Mareen who d. 1741 had m. Elizabeth JACOB & that their son Samuel, b. 27 N 1707, was the one that m. 16 May 1732, Elizabeth MULLIKIN.Then, does that mean that the Samuel DUVALL who left will in Fredk. Co., MD, Dec. 1752, was s/o John DUVALL & Elizabeth JONES?

Here are a few clues about DUVALL of Frederick County, MD:

In the public meeting room, Frederick City Hall, is Geo. SHAFER's 1876 copy of Samuel DUVALL's 1782 plat of Frederick Town.

Lewis Mill, apparently also known as Willow Grove Mill, was on a tributary of Catoctin Creek northwest of Jefferson.Owners included Zelophehed & Marcellus DUVAL.A deed of 23 Apr. 1784 for parts of "Anchor and Hope" and the resurvey of same, said, "except the part sold to HOFF in 1778 and laid off with the mill."

The Samuel DUVALL who drew the plat of 1782 must not be the first Samuel of Fredk. Co."MD Calendar of Wills" has Samuel DUVAL, Fredk. Co., miller, 2 Dec., 11 Dec. 1752.To wf. & ch. Mary, Cassandra, & Samuel DUVAL.Exx. Rachel MARONEY.Wit. John NILES, Philip LYNHAM, Mary TIMS.[New Facts & Old Families...Fredk. Co. MD, says that in his 1752 will Samuel said he was "of Monocksey," {sic, Monocacy} but lived in Frederick Town.]

Samuel DUVALL (22 Je. 1708, All Hallows, AA, MD - 1752; s/o John DUVALL & Eliz. JONES) m1. ca. 1728, Elizabeth TALBOTT, dau/o John TALBOTT [s/o Edward] & Mary WATERS [b. 18 of ninth mo. 168_, d/o John WATERS & Elizabeth].

Does this agree with what you know about DUVALL of Maryland?Do you know any more about the Samuel who platted Frederick Town?
