That is interesting. I still have not found anyone with a documented answer to this question of Susan Cecil. Her fate remains a mystery but I still believe that it is very possible that she was adopted by Mareen Duval unless of course she died early. Her two brothers John and Phillip Cecil became well represented in the records. Another complication in this family occurs with the long held belief that John Cecil had a daughter Elizabeth who married Thomas Witten Sr. If true then later five of her children married five of her brother Samuel Cecil's children making these all first cousin marriages. Later research strongly suggests John did not have a a daughter Elizabeth but rather his brother Phillip did but that she went to live with her Uncle John when her father Phillip died leaving her mother in poor straits. This would have made the five marriages 2nd cousin marriages, a much more common event, not that 1st cousin marriages were unknown, they weren't.
