Is descended from the early French settlers of the "Old Dominion State". He was born in Culpepper Co. Va on the 25th day of Sept. 1838.His father Isaac Duvall removed with him to Ray Co. Mo in the fall of 1844.He received his early education at the common schools, attending as was the custom of the boys of the neighborhood, during the winters months and assisting his father on the farm through the summer.In 1859 he entered the new college at the town of Richmond and here complete his education.Mr Duvall was married on the 26th day of Nov. 1865, to Mary Gross, a widow lady, whose maiden was Nuckols.She only lived about a year, and in Sept.1871, Mr Duvall was again married to Miss Virginia M Payne of Clinton co. Mo..Of this union two children, twins, were born, on the 9th day of Feb 1877.They were named respectively Albert Payne and Willie Payne in honor of thier grandfather.Mr Duvall owns a fine farm of 200 acres of good, fertile land chiefly devoted to growing gras, and raising catle and fine stock.He had been a trader in mules since 1860.He is a member of theRichmond Lodge of th eorder of the free mason.
J.F. duvall was born in Culpepper Co. Va on the 20th day of Feb1840.He came to Mo with his father who immigrated to Ray in the year 1844. marriedMiss Kate Forbes dau of John Forges, esq of Ray Co.
