Flipping thru Duvall research and found your question.Rosa (Rosie) Duvall was my GreatGranny Lowery.I remember she had a very bad hump on her back, no doubt from osteoporosis. And when she, my grandmother Pearl, and my aunt Janie all took out their teeth and put them in a glass jar in the kitchen - well I'll tell you.... Very frightening to a small child. If you are related to Arlen, I've probably been in touch with you thru him.He told me that Rosa was born out of wedlock. Her mother: Lou DuvallHer father: a circuit judge by the name of Edgarton.Interestingly, I once found deed information for a James M. Edgarton entering into some sort of property exchange with an MC Duval(l).Arlen said that some time later, Lou married a man by the name of Antonio.Rosa(ie) and her brother John lived with their mother. When Rosa married Henry Lowery, he nicknamed her Dora.
I have found that Mary Louise Duvall's (aka Lou Duvall)father was Mary Louisa's father was Alexander Duvall, b. April 15, 1804 in Paris, France, and her mother was Malinda Caroline Perkins, b. ca. 1824 in Spartanburg County, SC. I have no date of death either of them, but I know that Malinda was still living in 1906. Malinda Perkins and Alexander were married in Rutherford County and made their home there, as well as, being buried on their land on Old Hudlow Road.
