I saw the reference to your project in my search for my husband's relatives.I came across a web site of guys who carry out the re-enactments & other events in memorium to their ancesters who served. They have a very nice web site with pictures & a history of the battles etc.
They also have a roster of the Co.C 2nd Md Inf.I believe there are four or five Duvalls listed & one of them was a Franklin who they claim is buried in the Baltimore cemetery. But I did not see him listed on that web site.I checked in the Newman book & a Franklin is listed as joining the group that included my husband's relatives.
It gets a little confusing as the only Frank listed in the Newman book was born much later so I really do not know much more than when I started about him..
Philip Barton seems to be related thru his Mother to my husband's family. She married her cousin Richard Duvall & they had 12 children one of them being Philip Barton who was killed at Chancellorsville in the lst Battalion Md. Art. So he must be the one returned to Maryland.
I think. All this really gets me very confused as they all seemed to have had really large families & so many of them named them the same names.Even with my husband's family he was named after his father & his sister was named after her Mother, but they only had two, very small for a Duvall family I would say!!!
I am still searching & hope I do locate that small family cemetery which has been my real project.
Nice to talk with you & if you come acros anymore Duvalls please be sure & email me.I would love to hear anything that turns up.
