John Duvall 1780
Clarke county land patent from War of 1795-1812 (Two services) Private in Captains Batcherlor and Springers Companies Mississippi Pennsylvania Militia.
Lt. Col Nixon's Mississippi Reg't.

two sons and five daughters in the 1830 census of Wayne County, Mississippi.

Pleasant Duvall (also Duvolve)
John (our line)
Clarissa
Mariah A
Elizabeth
the other two girls would be guesses for me.

Our John of 1818 is a hit and miss with the census records, but he died in Dec 1880, Wayne County, MS.The census also lists the names of different wives that are not the same age.1850 census says Mary born 1830, and in 1860 its Jane born 1823.Some say Mary is Mary Covington, or Mary Jane, or Jane is Jane Atkinson. The Covington and Atkinson families lived nearby.

Pleasant Cornelius (1859) was the son of Mary and John.Mary was still living with Cornelius in the 1880 census.Another son (Henry)Sylvester was living nearby.PC had two wives Henrietta Glenn McPherson, and Hattie Nichols. We are descended through Hattie.Hattie's parentage is hard to search. Her mother was Marzella Nichols.

I don't know if Pleasant Cornelius of 1815 stayed in Wayne county, MS.He may have died or moved after 1850, but I have nothing to back this up.He had only one son named John born 1835, and this son could have been the connection to Duvalls in another Mississippi county. (James Dumont Duvall?)

I recently found the record of an John (1818) older son Jasper who fought in the civil war and he may have died in Tennessee (guessing). He was still alive August 1864 in Atlanta, GA.

The John Duvall line still owns family land near Hiwannee, Wayne county, MS, but no one lives there.cemetery and hunting

Common family name Pleasant Cornelius and Sylvester.
