Jeremiah's current gravestone is of fairly new construction. The old one was unreadable. Somehow the name Elizabeth was added later. Some assumed it was his first wife. Actually it is that of his mother who may have been living with him in Bedford Co., PA when she died. According to descendants of Chaney pioneers there in Bedford, his first wife was a Nellie Chaney. The several teen and sub-teen males and females in Jeremiah's household in 1790 appear to be absent in the 1800 fc. I think Nimrod was one of them.
