I'm not familiar with the geography of Kentucky, but I know quite a bit about a DuVal line that migrated to someplace in Kentucky in the late 1700s or early 1800s. They are not descended from Mareen Duvall that arrived about 1650 in Md. The Kentucky DuVals are descended from Daniel DuVal and Philadelphia DuBois of France. Daniel landed at Gloucester, Va. on March 5, 1701 on the ship Nassau. He was a French Huguenot that left France after the revocation of the Edit of Nantes. I beleive the Kentucky DuVals are descended from one of his 4 sons, Samuel DuVal. Samuel was a prominent man in early Virginia history. If you can obtain a copy of either or both of the books, DuVals of Kentucky from Virginia, by Margaret Gwin Buchanan, or The DuVals of Virginia by Bessie Grabowskii, you will find some interesting reading and a name to be proud to be associated with.
