In our Easterling Family History book (almost 1000 pages) we have a number of Silas Easterlings.Unfortunately the only information we have on a Silas & Ann is as follows and I quote< "Silas Easterling, date of birth and death unknown, married Ann (or Anna) (last name unknown).Silas obtained land grants in Charleston, Orangeburg, and Colleton districts totaling several thousand acres. In one transaction he is listed as a "Hatter," which apparently referred to his trade. In another document, Silas and William Easterling were fine for non attendance as juror.Silas and Ann probably had several children, but their names are unknown. The Thomas Easterling listed below is one possible son. This supposed relationship is based on circumstantial evidence and actual proof is lacking.
The Family of Thomas J. Easterling, date of birth unknown, died in 1842, married Elizabeth (last name unknown, but possibly Rhode.)He is believed to be the same Thomas (or Thomas J.) Easterling who appears in real estate transactions in Colleton and Charleston Districts as late as May 10, 1832, and in Rankin County, Mississippi beginning in the 1830"s.Thomas J. Easterling and Elizabeth (Rhode?) had at least 5 children: Margaret Regene, Allen Evans, Rachel, Martha E., and Thomas J. Jr.
