Ebeling: 1850s Germany, to WestVirginia, then Chicago, now Los Angeles
My aunts used to tell me my ancestors had a plantation in the Old South.Heinrich Ebeling arrived in the 1850s, managed or owned land in West Virginia, then lost everything in the Civil War.Family migrated to Chicago, many became police officers. My dad, Geoge Henry Ebeling, son of a cop, became a lawyer, and our family in the 1950s moved out to California. Irene and Ruth Ebeling were his sisters.I am a journalist now in 2010 in Los Angeles and wonder if I have any distant relatives nearby.Or anyone with information about the Ebelings when they were in West Virginia before the Civil War.My email address is [email protected]
Hope to hear from someone.
