LOOKING TO CONTACT WHITLOCK RESEARCHER MS. JONNIE BRITTON
I am looking to contact WHITLOCK family researcher Jonnie Britton who visited the OEDGS Library in Edgefield, South Carolina, on April 28, 2014, to research the Whitlock Family of Edgefield District, South Carolina. Her letter thanking Tonya Guy for her research help in the library and other comments about her visit to the area is on page 108 of the QUILL for July/August 2014 which I received in yesterday's mail. The letter mentioned that she was never able to actually find and see the Whitlock cemetery near Trenton. My impression of the last paragraph is that she was not from that area and was not familiar with Aiken, Augusta, Edgefield, etc.Her only contact information is an e-mail address, [email protected] message to her has not bounced.Neither has she answered my e-mail.Some people do not check e-mail that often.I have been a member of the OEDGS for years and visited the library a number of times. My contact information should be on some of the Whitlock material in the library or on the society' membership list. I have made numerous posts to this and other related boards and e-mail lists about my Edgefield Connections and so has another Whitlock Cousin, Linda Goetz of north Augusta.I have not heard from Mrs. Goetz in a while and I have not been contacted by Ms. Britton. Her letter in the QUILLmakes NO mention of what her Whitlock connection is and I do not have her in my genealogy computer program or in the information I have from Linda.I am assuming that Ms. Britton is a somewhat new researcher and I find it somewhat strange that she has not contacted me.
