Dianne, Do you think it`s possible that your greatgrandfathers name could have also been John Freeman and they just called him Frank for short? The J.F. Edmonds I found in the 1880 Kerr Co.,Tx. cencus was married and had a sister-in-law 11yrs. old living in the household. That would have made him at least in his 20`s or older. If your grandfather was 10 or 12 when his dad died then he would have just been a child. Is it possible that when his father died that he might have relocated to live with his aunt? I have had a hard time tracing this Edmonds family history, as I can`t find any more info on them after 1880 or before.
